Dr Robert Maloney

Voted by his peers as one of America’s Top 10 vision correction surgeons in a nationwide survey conducted by Ophthalmology Times, Dr. Maloney has performed more than 35,000 laser surgeries and has trained more than 700 surgeons in the use of the excimer laser. He was also awarded the prestigious Lans Award, for innovative contributions to the field of vision correction surgery. Prior to establishing MVI, he was associate professor of ophthalmology at the UCLA School of Medicine.

Dr. Robert K. Maloney, director of the Maloney Vision Institute (MVI), was the first surgeon in western North America to perform LASIK as part of the original federal Food and Drug Administration clinical trials. Today, he continues to advance the field of refractive surgery as one of the leading ophthalmologists in the United States authorized by the FDA to conduct clinical trials of LASIK for farsighted astigmatism, the Verisyse™ implantable contact lens, Conductive Keratoplasty for farsightedness, and the VISX CustomVue™ for laser vision correction.
